We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly experienced Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our East Coast team. This leader will play a key role in driving people strategy, partner engagement, and organizational performance across a regionally diverse and high-performing client group and will be based in the New York City office with a hybrid work arrangement.

How will you make a difference as a Senior Director, HRBP at Fragomen?
Strategic Business Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor to Practice Group Leaders, Office Managing Partners, and other senior stakeholders, shaping people strategy to align with business goals.
Serve as the primary HR contact for a defined population of partners and directors, supporting leadership development, organizational planning, and succession management.
Facilitate strategic talent discussions to support growth, retention, and workforce planning across regions and business units.
Team Leadership
Directly manage and develop a team of HR Business professionals ensuring high levels of capability, collaboration, and accountability.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, cross-functional partnership, and operational excellence within the HR team.
Organizational Effectiveness
Lead initiatives related to organizational design, change management, and performance culture.
Drive engagement strategies informed by data and partner input to support a high-performing and inclusive workplace.
Talent and Performance Management
Oversee key processes including year-end reviews, promotion cycles, compensation planning, and performance interventions for senior talent.
Collaborate with the Talent Development and Inclusion teams to ensure a robust pipeline of diverse leadership talent.
HR Operations and Risk Mitigation
Partner with Employee Relations, Legal, and Compliance teams to proactively manage sensitive matters and mitigate organizational risk.
Ensure alignment with global HR standards, local employment regulations, and firm-wide values.
Executive Communication and Reporting
Deliver executive-level presentations and briefings to firm leadership on talent trends, headcount data, and workforce planning recommendations.
Leverage metrics and reporting tools to guide decision-making and monitor progress against strategic goals.
Qualifications & Experience
12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior business partner role supporting executive or partner-level stakeholders.
Prior experience in a professional services, legal, or global matrixed organization strongly preferred.
Proven success leading high-performing HR teams and driving strategic HR initiatives in fast-paced, complex environments.
Deep expertise in talent management, employee relations, change management, and leadership coaching.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influence skills.
High integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive, consultative approach.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role takes into account many factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, work location, work arrangement, licensure and certifications, and applicable laws. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors noted.
A reasonable and good-faith estimate of the current salary range for individuals able to work a hybrid schedule in the office locally is:
$212,000.00 – $265,000.00
