A&O Shearman’s Early Careers team is delighted to invite students to join us for our forthcoming London Open Day, which will take place on Thursday 14 August 2025 from 10am to 4pm. This event has been carefully designed to give you a genuine insight into life at a market-leading global law firm, to demystify our Vacation Scheme and Training Contract selection processes, and to equip you with the practical skills required to submit a truly standout application.
On the day, you can expect:
A welcome presentation from the Early Careers team.
Insights into our core practice areas.
An interactive legal challenge.
A networking lunch with trainees and associates.
A candid trainee panel discussing life at A&O Shearman
A hands-on application workshop covering our recruitment process, top tips, common pitfalls, and a Q&A
We understand that traveling to our office may incur some costs. Therefore, we are pleased to offer travel reimbursement of up to £150 for your journey.
Application Process:
Applications will open on Monday 7th July and close on Monday 4th August at 1pm, although we may close earlier if capacity is reached. We therefore recommend applying well in advance. To apply, complete the short online application form. We review applications for Open Days on a rolling basis and aim to notify all candidates of an outcome within one week of submission.
If you are eager to experience first-hand the calibre of work, inclusive culture and international reach that define A&O Shearman – and to gain the tools required to articulate your potential in future applications – we look forward to receiving your application and, hopefully, welcoming you to our London office very soon.
Academic Qualifications:
Our academic requirements are AAB (136 UCAS points) or equivalent at A-Level and on track for/achieved a 2:1 undergraduate degree. We also require 7 GCSEs at grade 6 or above (including Maths and English). We do take into account mitigating circumstances, including those relating to a disability, which may have affected your grades either at school or university and there is a space on the application form to include these
