Role Purpose
The Fiduciary Manager will leverage their specialized skills and experience to provide strategic and regulatory support to Private Clients practice.
Role and Responsibilities
Complete Administration of Estate and Trusts including: client meetings; preparation of correspondence and memorandums; Estate and Trust Accountings (Judicial/non-Judicial); Probate papers and all supplemental documents; collection of assets and estate tax valuation of same; marshalling of assets; negotiations with decedents Life Insurance carriers; Federal and Local estate tax/inheritance tax returns; Federal and Local Gift tax returns; Federal and Local Individual Income tax returns; Federal and Local Fiduciary Income tax returns; Surrogate Court inventories; Receipt, Release and Indemnification agreements; and, attendance at IRS and State audits and negotiations at same.
Preparation and filing of all Probate documents and Estate and Trust Accounting with the Surrogate’s Courts; Complete knowledge of Surrogate Court procedures, requirements for filings and required filing formats.
The establishment, organization and maintenance of Trust and Estate files.
Review and organization of decedents records.
Preparation of all Federal and State Estate tax and Inheritance tax returns in accordance with the various tax laws of the appropriate jurisdictions.
Preparation of Federal and State Fiduciary Income tax returns in accordance with the various tax laws of the appropriate jurisdictions.
Legal research related to the Trust and Estate area utilizing various hard sources and computerized search services, such as Dow Jones, Lexis, ICLI data-base.
Direct working relationship on every Trust and Estate with appropriate Partner, Associate, Estate Administrator and Client.
Estate and Trust financial planning; Attendance and negotiations at Internal Revenue Service and Local audits; transfer of residuary assets to remaindermen.
Prepare and release diaries.

Education & Experience
At least five years of Trust and Estate legal assistant experience with knowledge of all aspects of Administration, Tax and Court procedures and at least three years of experience as a Senior Legal Assistant in the same areas
A Baccalaureate Degree in Accounting or Business Science
Physical Activity / Other Miscellaneous
Flexibility to work outside normal business hours
Ability to lift and carry up to 15lbs
