The Program
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic students to join our Co-op Internship Program at AO Shearman’s Riyadh office. Our Co-op program is designed to help bridge the gap between university education and the real professional legal environment This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a top-tier law firm, work alongside experienced legal professionals, and contribute to high-profile cases and transactions in Saudi Arabia and across the region.
Our Riyadh office offers a dynamic, multicultural working environment where interns are given hands-on experience working on major legal projects. This gives students an opportunity to apply their knowledge, develop essential skills, and deepen their understanding of the legal sector to prepare them for future careers.
The Co-op internship will last for a period of 7 months with intakes in January and August.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist lawyers with legal research, drafting, and documentation.
– Support teams in legal opinions, and client presentations.
– Participate in team meetings, client interactions, and strategy discussions.
– Collaborate on corporate transactions, dispute resolution cases, and other legal matters.
– Provide administrative support and handle ad-hoc tasks as required.
Requirements
– Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in Law.
– A strong cumulative GPA that demonstrates academic excellence.
– Candidates must successfully pass a designated assessment or test as part of the selection process.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Strong analytical and research abilities.
– High attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
– A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Successful candidates will need to provide the following before the start of their Co-op Internship:
– A copy of the national ID/Iqama is required.
– A copy of the official transcript.
– A letter from the university – COOP training should be a graduation requirement by the University or College.
